National Geographic Earth Day Run 2015

On its sixth year as one of the biggest running events in the Philippines, the National Geographic Channel will be introducing new and exciting changes for this year’s Earth Day Run 2015.  In cooperation with Runrio, there will be two events that will be held in Manila and Baguio.  Manila Leg will be held at the Mall of Asia Open Grounds on April 26, 2015 with categories of 5K, 10K, 21K and 42K.  The Baguio Leg will have 21K as the highest category and will be held in May.  Stay tuned for the full details of Baguio Leg.

With their environmental partner World Wildlife Fun for Nature, a substantial amount of contributions coming from the registration of all participants will help raise money for portable solar-powered lighting kits that will provide light and electricity to the Tawbuid Mangyan tribefolks and Forest Ranger’s camp. The kits will help eliminate the use of highly-flammable kerosene to light up their homes and have a safe, stable and sustainable energy source. Also to provide support to the Mindoro Forest Rangers advocating the preservation of our Tamaraws.
