Ladies of Adidas FitSquad PH nailed the Triple Threat Training at Step Dance Studio

fb_img_1475582167534

Another invigorating workout presented by Adidas Philippines, who has been supporting women in fitness, along with the Adidas Women FitSquad of the Philippines was held at Step Dance Studio in Makati City last September 28, 2016.  The workout was dubbed as “Triple-Threat Training” led by Irish Planes.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The session is all about Barre3 workout.  It is a combination of the graceful movements of ballet, meditative mind and body exercises of yoga, plus the core strengthening and stability training of pilates.

This is how we roll

The session was divided into 2 classes and after each session they conducted video contest in which a group of three will have to make a video doing a synchronized Barre 3 move.

I was hesitant at first as I was not really into joining contest or competition but my friend Bards and Kara insisted to join them as Divine was too shy to do so.  And so I obliged submitting our entry at the last minute and viola!.. we won!.. hahaha… Thank you AdidasPh!

Our winning piece

This is my first time to try it and I am really not into that kind of workout but the one thing I’ve learned with Barre3 is that with small and simple movements bring lots of benefits:

  • It targets every core muscle group that was neglected in some conventional strength training program which is helpful to activities and sports that requires endurance and greater range of motion.
  • Unlike other workout, it is only hard on muscles but not on joints. With small controlled movements it has less pressure on our joints, spine, ligament and tendons.
  • Doing it regularly will improve our posture and core strength which very important to a runner like me.
  • The tiny movements and several repetitions fatigue our muscles and forcing it to tone without lifting heavy weights.
  • With improved range of motion, it will also increase our flexibility.
  • Everyone can do it. No age restrictions.  No experience required. And you can do it with your friends.

Enjoying the session with my friends

And I had a blast doing it with my #AdidasFitSquadPh sisters! We nailed it guys!  Thank you #AdidasPh for a fun and invigorating workout session.  Until next workout!

Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection

Nike Beautiful X Powerful Premium Leather

Nike has been saluting all women around the world, ever since the sporting brand made it big in the industry. Today, Nike launches the first footwear collection inspired by female athletes and their boundary-breaking accomplishments, the Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection. The collection rethinks four Nike footwear icons and imbues each with that aforementioned trademark “There is no finish line” declaration.

Nike’s first footwear collection inspired by female athletes and their boundary breaking accomplishments, the Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection rethinks four Nike footwear icons and imbues each with that aforementioned trademark.  “There is no finish line” declaration.  It also showcases a speed-stripe, jacquard-woven material that is inspired by the winning lap and iconography of Samuelson’s race.

iza-goulart

In two hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds, Joan Benoit Samuelson ignited a revolution. The year was 1984, the location: Los Angeles, the event: the first women’s marathon in the history of the Games.

The victory definitively decimated obsolete notions that had previously limited women’s running to 1,500 meters: the belief that women weren’t physically capable of enduring such distances. The race itself paid off years of campaigning for the inclusion by the IRC: the International Runners Committee, created by a group of female runners who were supported by Nike.

Samuelson’s Los Angeles performance, coupled with the slogan she lives by: “There is no finish line,” also inspired the company to continuously evolve its efforts to support and celebrate female athletes across all sports. Over the years, Nike’s dedication to these athletes has constantly grown, from the creation of the Nike Women’s runs, then an international race series that expanded the movement worldwide, evolving into the Nike Women community – more than four million global athletes who run and train together, motivated by a shared mindset and commitment to pushing their limits.

The Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection Premium Leather is available October 6 via the SNKRS App and majority of Nike retail stores.

The collection is available in majority of Nike retail stores with the following SRP:
  • Nike Air Max Thea – 6745 php
  • Nike Air Presto – 6745 php
  • Nike Air Huarache – 6745 php
  • Nike Cortez – 4795 php

The Nike Beautiful X Powerful Collection Jacquard is available December 1.
